$512.80
I just signed up on-line for Ironman Canada 2007 through Active.com......five hundred plus smackeroos......funny paying that much to flog ourselves come race day......
In other news, it's really strange not having to head out for some monster training session.....actually quite nice to relax....well, maybe not relax so much but catch up on everything that fell to the wayside as this ironman took over my life......
Steven and Karen invited me over for a really tasty dinner at their casa last night.......great food, great company....nice.
Hope you are all having a great Labor Day Weekend!
*Peace*

Woohoo! Congrats on signing up! Hopefully, you'll continue blogging throughout next year and we'll get to follow your journey to Kona. :)
Hope you're enjoying the post IM R&R. You've earned it! :)
Thanks to you triathletes I have ammo when my wife is bugging me about spending $80 for a marathon, or $165 for a 100 miler. I just threaten her with wanting to do an Ironman and tell her she should consider herself lucky that she is not married to a crazy man.
wowsers. I had no idea IM cost that much! Truly masochistic. "Here's a lake, a road, and some more road... and if you give me $500, I'll allow you to torture yourself on it for 10-15 hours".... 'ok, sounds great!' LOL
So between you and Steven, someone will sign me up for '08, riiiiight? ;)
The entry fee is what you pay BEFORE spending money on gear, clothing, gels and drinks, etc. Not to mention travel costs, hotels, etc. BEing an Ironman doesn't come cheaply - literally.
Pain is pricey, isn't it? Congrats on going for the big one, again! And so soon after finishing IMC! You rock!
Wow, another one! You really are a glutton for punishment. Can't wait to read about your preps. I'll be doing some training near Hagg Lake in the coming months - I'll get in touch when I head down there and maybe we can go for a ride.
500 bucks???? Oh my Goodness, and I thought the 50-70 Euros they demand for the Dublin marathon is a lot.
Maybe you shouldn't tell anyone how much you paid for the privilege of 10 hours of pain. They'll have you institutionalised.
I am with Rob and Donald - I should point this out to my complaining husband:)
I don't know much about ironman or your personal fitness, but your finishing time at IMC is damn fast to me! I know people who'd love those times, i know i wouldn't!
Mike,
...jsut catching up on your blog. Thanks for everything.
